Equipment wise I would spend the cash and buy a rock hammer. Don't buy a cheap one as you will be replacing it frequently. I use a <u><b>Estwing</b></u> rock hammer and I would also suggest buying a Estwing Geo/Paleo Pick. This pick is by far the one tool I use the most. I would never leave home without that tool. I have looked on various other sites for Hog Creek and got results all the way from Weiser to down past Glenns Ferry. Other then that I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for some equipment. I have a couple different shovels but not much other then that. Thanks for all your help!! Jason

The only location I know for a fact where Geodes are is Hog Creek but you have to cross private property to get to the location. So it is for the most part off limits. I have heard that you can hike up the creek a couple of miles to get there but I don't know if it's true or not. Also I have heard that Challis area has Geodes and agate nodules but I do not have any locations. You picked a material that I love but have very little info on collecting areas.
