The amount of Lead used in a infants lifetime will be 800 pounds that sure is more than I would have even dreamed.

Next on the list is Zinc topping off at 750 pound.

Copper weighs in at 1500 pound and at todays prices $3.90 a pound that is a lot of pennies.

Aluminum is up there as well at 3,593 pounds and I would go and predict that this number will only increase over time.

This is were the numbers start to get outrageous Iron comes in at a staggering 32,700 pounds.

Next on the list is Clay the amount used will be 26,550 pounds.

This next one is kind of scary Salt I would have never guessed that this much could even be consumed. The average amount a newborn will use is 28,213 pounds, I think I need some water to wash this one down.

The last minerals on this list are combined together to include: Stone, Sand, Gravel, and Cement. These numbers are just down right through the roof at 1,238,101 pounds.

This should help people understand that recycling is going to be needed more and more in the future as we only have so many natural resources available. The numbers used were provided by the USGS.
