Just remember that you must access Hog Creek from BLM land and hike up the creek to get to the collecting area. The road that takes you straight there is very private property and the rancher will press trespassing charges if you are cough on his property.

I actually went and scouted this out after reading this yesterday. Really long drive from my house in Pullman but nobody worth watching was playing in the Superbowl so why not? Any who big surprise it was covered in snow, however I do have some valid information. Rock Creek Rd. has been renamed Jonathan Rd. on its lower portion. So if you hit Jonathan your in the right spot the Rd signs will eventually display Rock Creek as you get further out.

Thanks for the info! Do you have a picture of what an uncut nodule looks like? And do we need to ask permission to go on the private land?

The road is off to the left but it is private property. If you are finding pieces of agate were your looking look a little closer as the nodules will not show any agate and they are not perfect spheres. You may want to dig in the areas were your finding the agate, and break a few rocks as you will eventually find them and know what to look for. I would have over looked every nodule out there if I was not shown what to look for.

If you continue not to have any luck my rock club is going out there on a field trip on October 18 and anybody is able to attend.
